'Gukmul Tteokbokki' is a soup-y variation of classic Korean tteokbokki (spicy stir-fried rice cake). Gukmul tteokbokki has more 'gukmul' (sauce) and it takes inspiration from comfort snacks found on street carts and quick sidewalk restaurants of Seoul.
Along with kimbap and noodle soup, tteokbokki makes a great pillar of Korea's bunsik culture. Bunsik means snack but it holds greater significance in Korean culture. Casual yet comforting, it can be a very intimate meal shared with friends. Usually served at pojang macha.
